Staff Accountant
About the Role:
As a Staff Accountant at Landing, you’ll play an active role in shaping the financial foundation of a fast-growing startup. You’ll collaborate closely with our Operations, Finance, and Accounting teams to own key responsibilities like balance sheet and P&L reviews. More than just day-to-day accounting, this role puts you at the center of building and evolving new processes that scale with the business. We ensure that compliance is efficiently maintained using systems and well-defined processes to achieve this. We play a critical role in Landing's mission, and we partner closely with the business to make the company more successful. 
What You’ll Do:
- Drive the timely and accurate completion of month-end close activities, supporting key business decisions with up-to-date financials.
 - Analyze monthly P&L data to verify correct accounting treatment, providing clear variance explanations to department leadership.
 - Manage partner payouts with precision, ensuring accurate and timely disbursements in line with revenue share agreements.
 - Lead the development and enhancement of partner reporting processes, supporting automation efforts to improve scalability and efficiency.
 - Conduct internal audits and validation checks to ensure the accuracy of monthly revenue share calculations and maintain system integrity.
 - Prepare and post journal entries and manage monthly accruals, playing an essential role in the month-end close process.
 - Own bank account and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting.
 
What You Need:
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience (project accounting a plus.)
 - B.S. or B.A. degree in accounting or business-related degree or equivalent work experience
 - Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
 - Ability to think outside the box and challenge the status quo.
 - Attention to detail, problem solving and troubleshooting skills are essential.
 - Excellent oral and written communication.
 - Ability to multitask, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
 - Must thrive in a teamwork setting and have excellent organizational skills.
 - Advanced Excel skills
 - CPA is a plus but not required
